The theme for our monthly photo quest in July was “Panoramas”. It’s vacation time so the turnout was a little bit lower than in previous photo quests, and we expected that – a wholehearted thanks to everyone who dedicated their time to contribute this month, nevertheless!
For our August activity, please join us at Santee Lakes for Dragonfly Photography with our president Steve Cirone. Dragonflies are active during the day – when we meet at 10 in the morning they’re still warming up and are a lot more static, that makes photographing them easier.
Just like in previous years, we’re using the summer months for our “Improve Your Skills” meeting, with a couple of short sessions in which the club’s own officers and members share knowledge, experience and insights. This year we have three sessions that cover a little bit of everything, as follows:
After our July meeting we will have our monthly photo activity and we’re visiting the Pacific Southwest Railway Museum in Campo. They have an impressive collection of steam locomotives, diesel engines, and much more! Admission to the museum is free, but they do rely on donations. Our monthly activities are open to the public and not restricted to club members. Hope to see you there!
You are invited to the July 19th, 2018 meeting of the San Diego Photo Club featuring Blake Shaw. Meeting location and details are unchanged and can be found here.
It’s July and San Diego is baking in the heat of the summer’s first major heatwave – and as if that’s not enough, here’s the next monthly photo quest: Panoramas! 😀
Our June 2018 photo quest was “I See a Pattern Here!” and the submissions from our members did not disappoint. Thanks a lot everyone for taking part in the photo quest once more! Here is the gallery with all submitted photos:
