March Activity – Motor Transport Museum

Every month we have a planned activity on the third Saturday (following our monthly meeting on the third Thursday – you can see all meeting and activity details on our calendar page). In March, we’re heading to the Motor Transport Museum (MTM) in Campo, guided by long-time club member Jim McGinn.

  • Date: Saturday, March 17th, 2018
  • Time: 10am at the MTM (the museum is open from 9am to 5pm)
  • Location: Motor Transport Museum, 31949 Highway 94, Campo, CA 91906 (Google Map)
  • Travel Time: depending on your location, circa one hour (please plan accordingly)
  • Carpooling: please use our Facebook group to coordinate

Information directly from Jim below:

Directions from San Diego (approx. 60 miles) are easy: take Interstate 8 East (do not take Highway 94 out as it’s a longer process) to Buckman Springs Road. Turn right and go for several miles to Old Highway 94 at which point you’ll turn left, with the Motor Transport Museum being right around the bend on the right.

As the Motor Transport Museum relies on donations, please feel free to drop a couple of bucks in their donation bucket when you sign in at the front.

They have a photographer’s gallery where you can upload some of your images to share with others. Here is a link to some of the images I’ve taken at the MTM in the past.

On the way back to San Diego I’d suggest stopping at Major’s Diner in Pine Valley for one of the best burgers on the planet! Hope that you can join me for lunch after a great morning at the Motor Transport Museum.
